The UKIMS (United Kingdom Import Management System) number is essential for shipments requiring import/export documentation. This guide explains how to add a UKIMS number to a customer account and how to assign a different UKIMS number to a specific shipment during the booking process.
Adding a UKIMS Number to a Customer Account
By adding a UKIMS number to a customer account, the system will automatically use this number when booking Export jobs with that account. Follow these steps:
- Go to the Accounts section from the main menu.
- Click on the account name to open the details.
- Enter the valid UKIMS number for the customer.
- Click the Save button to store the UKIMS number for future bookings.
Once saved, this UKIMS number will automatically populate when booking shipments under this account.
Adding a Different UKIMS Number to a Shipment
If a shipment requires a different UKIMS number, you can enter it directly on the booking screen:
- Navigate to the Export Booking section.
- Click on the Customs Details button to expand the customs information form.
- Enter the specific UKIMS number for this shipment.
By entering the UKIMS number at the shipment level, it will override the default account UKIMS number for this specific booking.
