Use Depot Movement to transfer inventory from one Warehouse depot to another.

The stock is first moved out of the source depot and then appears as expected stock at the destination depot, where it must be verified as received before becoming available in inventory.

Before you start

Make sure:

  • You are currently working in the depot that holds the stock.
  • You know which destination depot the inventory should be moved to.
  • The stock you want to move is visible under Manage Inventory.
  • You have checked the SKUs and quantities before starting the transfer.

Move stock out of the source depot

1. Find the stock

Go to:

Inventory → Manage Inventory

Open the search criteria and find the stock you want to move.

You can search using information such as the:

  • Contract
  • SKU

Select PERFORM SEARCH to display the matching inventory.

Note: Make sure you are viewing the source depot before selecting the inventory.

Verify as received

8. Choose whether the stock should be available for picking

Warehouse will ask whether each received stock line should be made available for picking.

Select YES when the stock is ready to be allocated to outbound customer orders.

If the stock still needs to be checked, processed or located, do not make it available for picking until those steps have been completed.

Note: Making the stock available for picking means it can be allocated to customer orders in the destination depot.

9. Check the stock in the destination depot

Once the stock has been received, go to:

Inventory → Manage Inventory

Find the transferred stock and confirm that:

  • The correct SKU has been moved.
  • The quantity is correct.
  • The inventory is now held in the destination depot.
  • The stock is available for picking where required.

View the previous stock location

Warehouse keeps location information against the inventory so you can review where the stock has previously been held.

To view this information:

  1. Open the required inventory line.
  2. Select Locations.
  3. Review the previous location information.

What happens next?

The inventory is now recorded against the destination depot.

If it was made available for picking, the stock can now be allocated to orders processed from that depot.

Next step:
Use Manage inventory to review or locate the transferred stock, or Create an order when the inventory is ready to be used for outbound processing.
