Predicted Time of Arrival (PTA)

PTA is the time estimate generated by Routedog when a route is created.
- It is based on the route profile criteria selected during route planning.

Key Characteristics:
Static Nature: PTA remains constant once calculated, based on initial routing parameters.
Purpose: Serves as a baseline for planning before the journey.

Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA)

ETA is the time estimate generated once a route is in progress, adjusted based on the driver’s performance.
- Adjusts in response to actual Collection / Delivery times of addresses within the route.

Key Characteristics:
Dynamic Adjustment: ETA changes in response to actual travel conditions, differing from the static PTA.
Purpose: Provides updated arrival times, critical for real-time journey management.

Planning VS Execution:
PTA is for initial scheduling; ETA is for ongoing management and real-time adjustments.
