Creating a New Container
This document offers comprehensive instructions on creating and managing containers within our system. Efficient management of containers enables users to streamline billing processes and effectively handle consumable packing materials. Follow the instructions below to learn how to utilise this functionality in the system.
To create a new container, follow these steps:
1. Click on the plus symbol located in the top left corner to open the detail window.
2. Set the Code and Container Name for easy identification.
General Settings
In the General section, customise your container to suit your specific requirements:
- Colour: Assign distinct colors to easily distinguish containers.
- Contract: Link a container to a specific contract or leave it blank for global use.
Dimensions
Specify the physical attributes of the container:
- Length, Width, and Height: Add the dimensions of the container (optional).
- Weight: Define the weight of the container (optional).
- Pieces: Set the maximum number of items the container can hold.
- Limit: Establish a limit for the container's capacity.
Financial Details
When the packing feature is enabled, additional financial details become available:
- Nominal Code: Indicate if the container is taxable.
- Cost: Specify the cost associated with the packing.
- Price: Set the price for the packing.
- Container Type: Classify the container as Box, Barrel, or any other relevant type.
- Packing: If manual packing is chargeable at order dispatch, activate the packing option. This allows you to add packing charges seamlessly during pick and pack orders.
Efficient management of containers and dimensions is crucial for optimising billing processes and handling consumable packing materials effectively.
Step-By-Step
1. Go to the WMS
2. Click on SPATIAL
3. Click on Containers & Dimensions
4. Click on Create New
5. Set Code
6. Set the name
7. Set colour
8. If required, you can lock this to a contract or leave blank for all
9. Set the price
10. Turn the packing tab to ON
11. Click on CLOSE
12. You will see the Package charge in the order
13. Click to add the coast to the order
