The layout can help you quickly identify empty and occupied locations and review the stock held within a particular area of the warehouse.
Before you start
Make sure:
- The warehouse locations have already been created.
- The locations use a consistent structure such as Row → Bay → Shelf.
- You are viewing the correct warehouse or depot.
1. Open Depot Visualisation
Open Depot Visualisation from the warehouse setup and
locations area.
Warehouse will display the available rows for the selected depot.
2. Select a warehouse row
Select the row you want to view from the options at the top of the screen.
Warehouse will generate a visual representation of the locations contained
within that row.
3. Review the warehouse layout
The visualisation displays the storage locations contained within the
selected row.
Use the layout to understand how the bays and shelves are arranged and to
identify which locations currently contain stock.
For example, a structured row may contain locations such as:
| Location | Structure |
|---|---|
| A-1-1 | Row A, Bay 1, Shelf 1 |
| A-1-2 | Row A, Bay 1, Shelf 2 |
| A-2-1 | Row A, Bay 2, Shelf 1 |

4. Understand the colour coding
Locations are colour coded to help you quickly identify whether stock is
currently held in them.
| Colour | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Green | The location is empty and currently has no stock. |
| Grey | The location contains stock. This can include pickable, reserved or
expected stock. |
5. View a location
Select an individual location in the visualisation to view more information
about it.
This can be useful when you want to investigate a particular shelf or bin
after identifying it in the warehouse layout.

What happens next?
Depot Visualisation does not change the stock or warehouse layout itself.
It provides a visual way to review the locations that have already been set
up in Warehouse.
You can use the information shown to help decide where stock should be stored
or whether location changes are required.
